CEDAR CITY – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest they believe may be connected to a rash of recent burglaries.
Cedar City police received reports Monday of 13 business burglaries or attempted burglaries that occurred over the weekend.
Most of the incidents were confined to a single office building located at 427 South Main Street, where the suspect forced entry and ransacked the different businesses housed inside, Sgt. Jerry Womack said.
It appears the suspect was looking for money as that is all that was reported missing from the sites, according to a news release issued by Cedar City Police Department.
Authorities released still photos of the suspect Tuesday although, taken from video surveillance, most of the images are not clear. Police are hoping however, someone in the public will recognize the person in the image. At present, police are on the lookout for only one suspect. However, Womack said, there is always a chance that more than one person was involved.
If you have information about these incidents or the suspect please call Cedar City Police at 435-586-2956.
