CEDAR CITY – Authorities responded to a fire Wednesday afternoon they are now investigating for possible arson. Iron County Sheriff deputies along with fire fighters from the Bureau of Land Management and the Cedar City Fire Department responded to the scene at around 3 p.m. The fire, located in the area of 2500 W. 5500 North, had spread to about three-quarters of an acre. Enoch man sentenced for sending porn photos to minor

CEDAR CITY – An Enoch man was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail Tuesday for sending pornographic photos of himself to a 15-year-old. Shane Egan, 26, was convicted on a third-degree felony for dealing harmful materials to a minor. He pleaded no contest to the charge. Egan was originally sentenced to 0-5 years in the Utah State Prison, but that sentence was suspended in lieu of the other. CEDAR CITY – Emergency responders spent four hours Monday working to bring a female out of Kanarraville Falls after she broke her leg while exploring the slot canyon. The 26-year-old female from northern Utah was hiking Kanarraville Falls with four friends when she fell from the ladder located at the upper waterfall. Crews were dispatched to the area around 4 p.m. and finished at about 8 p.m., authorities said. CEDAR CITY – Two suspects were booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility Sunday evening after allegedly beating a man with a hammer. Kade Robert Shearer, 21, and Sasha Michelle Davis, 20, were booked on a third-degree felony for aggravated assault and two second-degree felonies for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.
